How I Found My Biggest Time Wasters

I tracked my time for 7 days without trying to change anything. It helped me find repeated patterns, energy dips, and tasks that were taking longer than needed.

Here are some practicle steps that I personally used & research also suggests to find time wastors.

Track your time for 3 to 7 days.

Your work is to only record your time. Do not try to change anything initially.
Example: 7:00 - 7:30 - getting ready.
7:30 - 8:00 - social media.

This is what I did for 7 days. And this is what one of my entry looks alike.

4:05 - 4:30 - eat
4:30 - 5:00 - study
5:00 - 8:00 - Holy google cloud hell.

Yes, It's that much simple. Now

Don't label every thing enjoyable as time-wasted.

we are huamas not machine, we can't do work 24/7.

we need rest & enjoyment.

for exmample,
I sometime spent many time to read or walk. That is not a time-wastor.

After 7 days

Look for repeated patterns.
• Unplanned phone use
• Procastination
• Tasks taking longer than needed.

For me, many of my tasks are taking longer than needed. Moreover I also found that in between 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM I have energy dip.

Now Solve & recheck

Now suppose you discover

phone: 2 hours/day
random browsing: 30 mins/day

Then Now you have data.
Do you don't need complecated productivity system.

your work is to just control it rather than elimination.

I also discovered energy dip inside my day & I started doing simpler task during that time of the day.

If you have similar dip refer to 5-practical-ways-to-get-your-motivation-back.

Then after fixing this problem, recheck it after 7-days.
