Better regulate your emotions
You're not angry because of someone else, but it's your own motive behind it.
Do you remember when you're angry last time?
What if I say, "You're not angry because of someone else, but you're angry to achieve a goal."
This is Adlerian psychology.
It explains the behaviour through the purpose it serves in the present.
For example, someone shouts at another person not because they lost control of their anger, but because they want other people to listen to them.
This is one of the core ideas from The Courage to be Disliked by Ichiro Kishimi & Fumitake Koga.
And this concept is called teleology (the study of purpose or goal).
The goal behind this article is simple.
When you feel anger, disappointment, depression or else... instead of asking "Why am I angry?" ask "What am I trying to achieve through it?"
Of course, it also applies to other emotions.
Anger, depression, disappointment, fear, jealousy & many others.
